Axiom Lift keeps the context of your AI coding sessions so it can be brought back later. This page says exactly what is collected, where it goes, and what never happens to it.
What Axiom collects
Your AI session transcripts. The Axiom client you install on your computer reads the session files that Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode already write on that computer, and uploads them to your account. That is the whole point of the product, and it only happens after you install the client and connect the computer to your account.
Facts about the work. The Git branch and commit a session was on, the files and commands a turn touched, the model used, token counts and timings. These come from the transcripts and from your local Git checkout.
Your account. An @handle, a display name, an email address and a password. Your email is not verified yet and is not shown to anyone.
Your computers. A name for each computer you connect and when it last uploaded, so you can see and revoke them.
Axiom uses no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. To see how the service is used, it keeps its own record of visits: the address you connect from, the country Cloudflare reports for it, the browser and device type, the pages and app views opened and the buttons pressed, and your account name if you are signed in. That record stays on the server, is seen only by the operator, and is deleted after 90 days. When you create an account, the address, country and browser you signed up from are kept with it, and each computer you connect reports its name and operating system. Axiom sets two cookies: one keeps you signed in for 14 days; the other is a random visitor id that lasts a year and lets the operator see that a visit before sign-up and the account made later were the same person. Neither is shared with anyone.
What is done with it
Transcripts are stored in your account and made searchable for you.
Every statement is scanned for things that look like secrets (keys, tokens, passwords) and personal details (email addresses, phone numbers) and flagged. Flagged statements are never handed to an AI tool through Axiom, whatever is asked for.
Meaning is worked out on the server itself, with a small model that runs there. Nothing leaves the server for that.
When you or your AI ask Axiom for context, a receipt records exactly what was handed over, so you can always see what an AI was given.
Who else sees it
Nobody, by default. Your context is private to your account. It is not sold, shared, or used to train anything.
Only if you choose to: a profile can be made public, and a context repository can be published. Both are off unless you turn them on.
Anthropic, only when an operator configures it. Axiom can send parts of a transcript to Anthropic's API to label decisions and requirements in old history. On axiomlift.ai this is not configured, so nothing is sent to Anthropic by Axiom. The quiet notes your AI writes during a live session are made by your own AI session, under your own AI provider account, not by Axiom.
Cloudflare carries the connection between your browser and the server, and will see your IP address, as any network provider does.
Google Fonts serves the typefaces on these public pages, so your browser fetches them from Google.
Where it is kept and for how long
axiomlift.ai is run from the United Kingdom. A self-hosted Axiom keeps everything on whatever computer its owner runs it on.
Your data is kept until you delete it. Under Account you can revoke every connected computer, or delete the account, which removes everything held for it on the server. The original session files on your own computer are never touched by Axiom.
Axiom is early software. The axiomlift.ai server is not yet backed up automatically, so your own session files remain the copy of record.
How it is protected
Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes, and every access token is stored only as a hash.
Sign-in and sign-up attempts are rate limited. Sessions are httpOnly cookies that only work from this site.
Uploads from a computer use a token that you can revoke at any time from the app.
Your rights
You can see everything held about you in the app, export what you publish, and delete your account yourself. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the rights the UK GDPR and GDPR give you, including access, correction, erasure and portability, and the right to complain to the ICO or your local authority. The app is not for anyone under 16.
